John Troncoso has always had a nose for business. At a young age, he took a keen interest in the world of entrepreneurship and commerce, often traveling with his father to visit small businesses around the Tampa Bay area. In this classroom, he learned above all else that one could never succeed for long without passion and integrity. John has always been one to “stand on the shoulders of giants” and early in his teenage years, he began reading as many books about investing as he could get his hands on. He credits his pragmatic, value oriented business approach to having read Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett early in his studies. John has used his determination and tireless work effort in starting a successful alternative energy trading firm in Tampa, working as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in New York City, and most recently, as a Risk Manager at Glencore within their prestigious Commercial Rotational Programme in Stamford, Connecticut. At each step of his young career, he has hoped to put his clients and his morals above his personal ambitions.
He is a proud graduate of Hillsborough High School’s International Baccalaureate Program where he excelled as a student-athlete. He later graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Dyson School of Business at Cornell University. While there, he was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, the Mutual Investment Club of Cornell, and a Teacher Assistant for Introductory Finance. John has a strong sense of social duty and hopes to work with veterans and young student-athletes in the Tampa Bay area.
